The goal of NANGAN is to promote: Networking, Advocacy, Information Dissemination and Capacity Building to the member organizations for a common cause. There are many I/NGOs working in the field of HIV/AIDS in Nepal but there is very little sharing of effective interventions, best practices and lessons learned, leading to duplication of work and few learning opportunities. NANGAN feels a strong need to orient and make capable its member organisations and strengthen their organisational capacity for a more effective implementation of STIs/HIV and AIDS prevention, control and care programs in Nepal as well as against stigma and discrimination. To achieve the goal of NANGAN, it is implementing "Strengthening NANGAN's Coordination Capacity" program with the technical and financial support from Family Health International (FHI) Nepal. We would like to thank FHI Nepal for the, kind cooperation to NANGAN which, ultimately support in strengthening the capacity of grass root level organizations working in the field of HIV and AIDS prevention, control and care in Nepal and to reduce stigma and discrimination to the peoples leaving with HIV and AIDS as well. The need for a strong network for the joint implementation of various programs to generate common pressure and provide recommendations to the government and donor agencies for the proper utilization of resources and addressing the right target groups in the proper areas, is strongly felt among the members of the network. Therefore, I feel that NANGAN is at the forefront of the fight against HIV/AIDS in Nepal jointly with its member organisations.

NANGAN's 7th General Assembly has been successfully completed with your great support and kind cooperation. I am very thankful to all members who actively participated in this General Assembly. I also would like to mention that the new committee has been selected in a fully democratic and participatory process. I would like to thank all the past executive board members for their support over the last 2 years, their involvement in the executive committee has been an effective factor in NANGAN's continued growth and they have worked hard to establish this organisation as an active network in the field of STIs, HIV & AIDS. I hope and request the past board members to give support to the organisation so that it can continue to build on its achievements.

The change in the executive committee has meant the loss of some good friends but I hope that the new team will be able to sustain the work of NANGAN which was started by the previous board.

I always welcome all members who share information with NANGAN and its member organisations; we build strength in the network by sharing each others issues, challenges and successes to fight against STIs, HIV & AIDS in our country.

Your valuable suggestion and inputs are always highly appreciatable in this regards.

Thanking you
Sincerely yours

Tulsha Amatya
President
NANGAN
